Las Vegas is already the land of glitz and big dreams, but Dodge managed to add to that effect with an exciting debut at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show this week. In addition to several other vehicles under the FIAT Chrysler Automobiles name, Dodge released its Charger R/T Funny Car out into the wild.
In collaboration with Mopar and Don Schumacher Racing, the R/T Funny Car was developed on a virtual platform and was crafted using the same tools and production-based technology used on street cars.
"From the first steps of creating computer Aided Design (CAD) models into a package model by the FCA engineers, to working with designers from the Product Design Office to include proportions and style cues taken from the production version of the 2014 Dodge Charger, it all came together nicely," says David Bailey, Senior Manager -- SRT Motorsports Engineering and Design.1
What's more, you can expect to see this drag racing vehicle at the 2015 season-opening Winternationals event Feb. 5-9 at Auto Club Raceway in California, where it will compete in the National Hot Rod Association Mellow Yello Drag Racing Series.
